Lawsuits
On February 17, 2014 an appeal was filed in the case of Midland Consult (Midland) and Maxim Stepanov versus Journalism Development Network (JDN) following Judge Charles J. Peters grant of JDN’s Motion to Dismiss on June 6, 2013.
Mr. Maxim Stepanov has appealed to the State of New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division —First Department, because the trial judge did not follow well-established precedent holding that when an average reader might understand the words to impute untrustworthiness, dishonesty or wrongdoing to a plaintiff in his business or profession, a cause of action for defamation per se has been stated.
On November 27, 2012 Panamanian lawyer Mr. Oscar Augusto Cedeño Villarreal filed a lawsuit in Basmanny Court of Moscow, the Russian Federation against the Editorial and Publishing House (RID) «Novaya Gazeta».
Plaintiffs Maxim A. Stepanov, Co-Director of Midland Consult (Cyprus) Ltd, and Midland Consult (Cyprus) Ltd., have sued Journalism Development Network, Inc. (JDN), in the Circuit Court for Baltimore City, Maryland on November 1, 2012.
On 30th September, 2012 limited liability company «TV3 Latvia» broadcasted a television broadcast «Nekā personīga» («Nothing Personal»), which inter alia contained misleading information about Olga Demosthenous, Manager of Midland Consult (Cyprus) Limited in Nicosia, Cyprus.
